July - 365 Project

So surprise surprise I am behind on my blog posts...I have to be honest I do love blogging about Connor and what is going on, but generally after he is tucked in bed, we have had dinner & dishes are done, the last thing on my mind is opening the computer and blogging.  It is still a goal to get better!

July was such a fun month.  On July 1st, we celebrated Connor's 1st Birthday with a wonderful pool party at Anthem Country Club.  All the grandparents were in town that weekend to celebrate the big occasion.  I have to thank GMa & Papa Shiplett for hanging around after Connor's birthday to babysit for the weekend.  Blair & I were able to enjoy a long weekend in Park City, UT for a good friends wedding.  Connor had tons of fun with GMa & Papa Ship and they snapped the 365 photos for me :).

On July 13th, Connor had his 1-year check-up weighing in at 23.6 lbs...our big boy!  He is in the 50th percentile on all fronts & a healthy 1 year old.

Papa Ship came for another quick visit while in Las Vegas for work - see July 23rd. And Grandma & Grandpa Bordwell came at the end of the month to help celebrate my 30th Birthday - see July 28th.  We love that all the grandparents have gotten to see Connor grow first hand & Connor loves their visits!

I am truly lucky I am able to capture any clear photos these days, as Connor never stops moving...he is such an active little guy.  I would say running versus walking most days!  We LOVE watching him explore his world.

I honestly can not believe we have a 1-year old and officially a toddler.  His smile melts our hearts and we are loving the adventure!

Connor's 1st Birthday Party!!

We celebrated Connor's 1st Birthday on Sunday, July 1st at the Anthem Country Club Pool.  We figured Connor might not realize it was his birthday and that all this celebration was for him, but we do know how much he LOVES the pool, so a BBQ & Pool party was a perfect way to celebrate his big day!  I will let the pictures speak themselves on all the fun we had!

We will start with the fun decor pictures...thanks Dalisa for helping me with the photos!

The centerpieces were photos of Connor throughout this past year.  I loved looking through all the photos trying to find my favorites!

Yum Yum cupcakes...we had to take a quick photo before they all melted in the
 100+ degree heat!

Edible Favors - I best kind I think :)  Delicious Kettle Corn!

Connor was one lucky boy, the present table was full of great gifts.  Thank you to everyone, he loves playing with his new toys!

Pool Time!
Everyone had fun playing in the pool, but I think the birthday boy enjoyed it the most!

Connor loved walking around in the water -
they had a perfect water deck for the little ones to play.

The Terrones Family loved the water too!

Zane & Connor loved playing together :)

I even got to get in the water & splashed around!

There is no doubt Connor is his father's son!

Two of our favorite people - The Pulliams getting in a little sun :)

GMa & Papa Ship, thank for traveling from FL for the party!!

Relaxing in the shade was a nice option too!

Time for Birthday Cake!  Connor was not really sure about the cake & why everyone was watching him try to eat it, but cute none the less.

Connor got his very own giant homemade cupcake for the occasion!

 Dad & Connor waiting patiently..

 Digging In...Kinda
Guess I have to be happy he did not to eat the whole thing!

 Giving Mom a Taste Test!

The Aftermath :)

A few more fun party photos...

So big!!

Connor with his leading ladies...Mom, Grandma Bordwell & GMa Shiplett!

Post pool play time with his new friend Zane!

The bubble bottles are almost as fun as blowing actual bubbles!

Such good sharing :)

Thank you again to everyone who was able to join us at the party & for those that were there in spirit.  Connor is so lucky to have so many people that love him and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful support system.  The 1st birthday party is officially in the books!

June - 365 Project

So as usual these days I am way behind on blogging, but I am just going with it...better late than never, right?  June has been a fun and exhausting month!  What fun you might ask..

Connor officially started walking on June 4th, also known as his 11-month birthday, and has not looked back since.  He is a little busy body as you can see from all of the photos...he only stops when he is sleeping and even then he is still moving (all around his crib).

The need to continue our baby proofing efforts became very apparent in June when Connor learned how to open the cabinets - see June 10th & June 19th

Connor was upgraded to the full size bath tub with cool bumpers on June 18th, but as you can see from the photo on the 20th he still loves his duckie bath tub.

Connor loves to talk on the phone, and by phone I mean he loves to put any toy up to his ear and pretend it is a phone, as seen on June 4th, and he loves to play peek-a-boo, see June 9th & 26th.

To finish off a great month GMa & Papa Ship and Grandma & Grandpa Bordwell all came to Las Vegas to visit on June 30th for Connor's 1st Birthday Party.  Those pictures will be posted this weekend :)

Connor's personality continues to develop and we love watching each day to see what new surprises he brings us!!

Happy Father's Day!

Connor is so lucky to have such a fantastic dad & I am so lucky to have such a loving &  supportive husband to share in this adventure of parenthood.  He makes sure Connor & I are fed, helps every night with bath & bed time and is always there if I need help.  I could not ask for someone else I would rather have by my side.  I can only hope that Connor grows to be just like his dad (well, maybe without a few of the trouble making teen years).

Our very good friend Carrie Terrones take a picture every year of her son in his dads shirt & tie...to see how much bigger he gets every year on this very special day.  She helped me start this tradition with Connor, thank you Carrie for sharing your idea & taking the photos!!

Connor has a little ways to go before he fits into dads shirts,
but really can you get much cuter!!

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Connor & Madison & A Roll of Paper Towels

Connor loves paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, pretty much any type of tissue that he can get his hands on.  Not the most environmentally friendly of toys, but it can keep him entertained for a solid 15-20 minutes, so sometimes I give in and let him have at it.  Connor found this roll while he was exploring the cabinets...his new found talent.  Madison loves the cardboard center of the paper towel roll and thought she would get in on the fun :)

Madison: What do you have there Connor?

Connor: A paper towel roll, see.

Madison: Thank you so much, I'll take that.

Connor: Hey where are you going with that?

 Come back with that...

 I'm coming for you...

Connor: Can't we share the paper towels?

Madison: Okay, we can play together I guess.
